Nursery Admissions

Getting off to a great start....

Our nursery will be led by our qualified EYFS teacher and will be supported by experienced early years teaching assistants who are dedicated to ensuring that learning is at the heart of all that happens in the nursery session - through carefully planned play.

Exploring, questioning and experimenting opportunities are abundant in our well resourced classroom and outdoor learning space.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and support your child to master the skills they need in the earliest stages of their development.

The areas of learning are:

  • communication and language
  • physical development
  • personal, social and emotional development
  • literacy
  • mathematics
  • understanding the world
  • expressive arts and design

There are three intakes a year: September, January and April (after the Easter holidays).  We will only be able to accept pupils if there are sufficient spaces.

There are 26 full time equivalent places in our nursery. A full time place = 30 hours and a part time place = 15 hours. We can offer a combination of full time and part time places depending on age and eligibility.

  • 3/4 year old places (15 hours per week; 3 hours per day, morning or afternoon)
  • 3/4 year old places (30 hours per week; 6 hours per day, morning and afternoon)

3 and 4 YEAR OLDS
At the start of the term after your child’s third birthday they will automatically be eligible for at least 15 hours free provision in our nursery. We also offer the extended 30 hour provision to those parents who are entitled to it. You can find more information on the 30 hour provision below or you can visit:

Children are entitled to at least 15 hours free provision in nursery, starting at the beginning of the term following their 3rd birthday, ie children born:
 1 September - 31 December can start from 1 January
 1 January – 31 March can start from 1 April
 1 April – 31 August can start from 1 September

We ask that children wear a basic uniform of school  polo shirt with logo and school sweatshirt with logo with your own choice of leg wear.  Children should have trainers for indoors and be provided with wellies for outside (these need to be available every day).  If you would like your child to wear the full school uniform they may do so .

Additional information about 3 and 4 year olds

All 3 and 4 year olds are eligible for 15 hours per week funding and working (single and joint) parents are eligible for 30 hours funding. You can apply for funding from when your child is 2 years and 36 weeks old. You can apply outside of these recommended dates but you might not receive your code in time. You must have a valid code by the end of the month before a new term starts. You have to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months. If your eligibility for 30 hours of funding changes, you will be offered a 15 hour place or the option to retain a 30 hour place, if chosen additional fees will apply at the same hourly rate of funding offered by Oxfordshire County Council.

If you are unsure how to apply for funding, please do complete your nursery application and we help with the application for funding. Places will be offered once your eligibility for funding is confirmed.

In 2020, we will take some 2-year-olds (please see policy below).

Some 2 year olds are eligible for 15 hours free early education funding. Your 2-year-old can get free early education and childcare if you live in England and get one of the following benefits:

Children are eligible to enter our nursery the term after they turn 2 if there are spaces available.   For example if they are 2 in April, they can start in September.  If they are 2 in September they can start in January. All 2 year old places are funded by Oxfordshire County Council.
